Down Syndrome Limerick Sports Partnership with Lisnagry FC

We are delighted to announce our partnership with Down Syndrome Limerick in our redevelopment of Scanlon Park.

Ellen Tuffy, Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick, speaks about working with Lisnagry Football Club to develop a sports programme for their members. Down Syndrome Limerick are enthusiastic to encourage exercise and socialisation for their members with the wider community. Ellen says “We believe Lisnagry Football Club's ethos of inclusion & fun is a great fit for our group. We look forward to the day when our members are exercising and playing soccer at Scanlan Park’s new facilities.”

Lisnagry FC Treasurer Aileen Hogan said “As part of our Sports capital funding application we thought about how Scanlon Park could be developed into a true community sports facility for Castleconnell and its surrounds. We were given the opportunity to talk to Ellen and the team at Down Syndrome Limerick with the aim of including them as one of our partners in this endeavour. Our aim is, and has always been, to be an inclusive club which has a wide player base. Our club believes in equal time for all school children players with an emphasis on keeping all children in sport. We look forward to sharing our new facilities and time with such a wonderful group as Down Syndrome Limerick”.
